Zelda… the same on both?

Zelda’s one of those big name franchises, even if your a Playstation fanboy you know what Zelda is, just like you know what maria and halo are. Wii owners might have to take a double take the next time they are at a friends house that has the last gen game console… you know… the gamecube. Why? Simple because as it turns out Zelda Twighlight princess has been confirmed to be the SAME on both GameCube and Wii.

This is starting to raise a few eyebrows, why, simple it’s ok to see ports between old and new consoles and between next gen consoles. But for a game to be EXACTLY THE SAME, except for the control scheme this really seems to be a let down. I mean without HD support on the Wii, we weren’t expecting miracles but come on the same exact game? I’m a very avid Wii/360 Supporter and ya the ps3 has some great games but this is just too much for me. Zelda and Mario are the 2 big daddy’s of nintendo and now the nextgen console is playing games that will work on a lastgen GameCube? Does this mean that the Wii really isn’t much more powerful than the gamecube (remember those demos at e3 were gamecubes not wii’s) or does this just mean those who get the wii are really only getting it to take advantage of the WiiMote. In that case can’t we just get a WiiMote adapter for the gamecube?

I really don’t want to think poorly of the Wii but the fact that a headliner game is gonna be the same on both versions of consoles is just too much to ignore.

the demos at e3 WERE wiis, not gamecubes. they were just housed in the gamecube shell.
