Following the convict anti-heroes named in the games title, gamers are promised a gritty storyline, co-op play, plus a hefty amount of gratuitous violence. The pair (painfully described as a ‘flawed mercenary’ and a ‘medicated psychopath’) are apparently not the greatest of friends and are reluctantly working with each other to survive the mayhem and chaos that unfolds during the course of the game. (And yes this is a 360 Exclusive as of right now)
“No gamer will have experienced anything like this before, both graphically and in terms of gameplay. Take IO’s innovation and graphical excellence from the Hitman series, add some of their widely acclaimed squad expertise from Freedom Fighters, then take these to a new level in next-generation technology. Add a gripping story, an anti-hero and a psychopath and you get Kane & Lynch: Dead Men; the ultimate next generation experience,” said Larry Sparks, Global Head of Brands Management at Eidos.
Heres my issue with the above statements and the provided screenshots as have been seen so far, they just aren’t all that, the images don’t look like a huge leap beyond hitman, they look good yes but beyond what we’ve experienced before graphically, not so far. I mean if you look closely the first picture showcases some bland textures, all the walls seem flat even though they appear they want to be textured, hair remains a blob from what i can see. And most annoying of all is something no one saw in the second picture that im aware of… Why is it that 2 dead guys on the floor, their arms appear to act like maniquiens (sp?), there hands still propped up and fingers in an upward stance. When someone dies, they dont exactly freeze and fall backwards, shouldn’t these guys arms be … limp? Especially for a game claiming so much graphically? Ok gameplay i can’t tell yet till i get my hands on it but the graphics just don’t appear to be beyond most of the current 360 games so far. But only time and new screenshots and videos as the game progresses in development will truely tell the tale.
