Seems that Gamespot got some bad news, their initial preorder numbers were way over. They found out today that they will only be receiving HALF of their originally expected number of PS3′s so many early adopters may be out of luck till closer or perhaps after christmas.
This begs the question, will gamespot take the extreme shortage as a chance to put together some discount 360 bundles like bestbuy and offer a more competitive offering to Christmas shoppers this year? I mean yes the numbers here are talking about preorder users, so obviously they can’t offer them the bundle … but the fact remains with not even enough units to meat half of their preorders, that means their won’t be any on shelves for walk in customers for atleast a while after christmas. Just seems to me the idea of a Premium 360 and 3 games for less than the ps3 by itself without any games seems like a pretty realistic offering to give customers that come in looking for a ps3. (Maybe show them a ridge racer comparison ;) see below post)
