NY Times and Gamespot, put 360 in the winners spot.

When your talking about comparisons between games, especially when many are launch titles from both consoles… its kind of funny when the 360 (supposedly according to sony the less powerful console) ends up with conclusions like this (via XboxScene)

The Xbox 360 had better graphics in almost all the games we examined. The 360′s biggest victories were in Madden 07 and Fight Night Round 3, where the differences in texture detail and lighting stood out in our comparison shots. We couldn’t capture this in the screenshots, but the Xbox 360 games generally offered better framerates too.

and then theirs the NY Times (via kotaku)that pretty much sums it up with a simple “Right now there is basically no rational reason to buy a PlayStation 3 instead of an Xbox 360.”

I’m very happy to learn that Toshiba will put the Cell in their next tvs. Why? We all know that the Cell (in fact a PowerPC asymmetric from IBM vs Xenon, an IBM PowerPC too for the Xbox-360) is a partnership between Toshiba and Sony, half & half for the co$t, and developped by IBM. It reminds to everybody that the CPU (Cell) is not exclusive to the PS3 but for many applications. You’ll see the Cell in several electronics in the future. WTF?!?! For those who don’t read too much, you have to understand that the Cell is a big problem for programmers vs the simplicity of Xenon (Xbox-360′s CPU). Xenon is “friendly programmer”. You can say that Microsoft is behind programmers, helping them for better and faster results on games and so helping smaller companies to deal w/ what they can’t afford to stay in business. It’s a win-win situation for software companies and consumers. On the opposite you have Sony w/ a complicated CPU for the Ps3 and what we have? Many complaints from game makers. Difficulties to work with and so long… They are simply losing money working on the Ps3 no longer the leader w/ not much consoles on the market. That’s normal… with a CPU made also for toasters!? Playstation fanboys have to be very patient, what i’m not… waiting for the eighth wonder of the world (LOL) to deliver. — Pour finir, it’s important to put the finger on what’s the best asset for the Xbox-360; i call the GPU. I think that b/c of the GPU, btw the best of the two by a mile, the Xbox-360 will shine and always be the winner in graphics quality. I was not impressed by all the ducks in the bath from nVidia!!! It means nothing to me when you pair w/ a so much liar like Sony. I’m waiting for results from the Ps3, not words!
