Or so it seems :) According to thinksecret, the latest tester build of MacOSX Leopard which is build 9A410 contains a great number of chamges, some minor some more substantial, but the fact is with them adding things in at this point it’s no wonder they are taking more time to test things out, I had the feeling it wasn’t being delayed for just the OS’s sake, only Microsoft would admit to something like that, no Apple gets away with blaming other products they sell.
Anyway, the latest build see’s the entire UI get an upgrade with a glass like user interface…. NOT, just playing with you guys :) The user interface did get a across the board change but it wasn’t something that big, no apparently, the title and toolbars of windows are darker than in previous Mac OS X releases and some buttons have changed in appearance while others are entirely new, like quicklook now has it’s own toolbar by default.
Their are 2 new utilities that made it into 9A410, the Directory and Podcast Capture, while directory sounds appleish, podcast capture just doesn’t sound simple and snappy enough… but hey they just added it maybe it’ll get a cool name like “Click” or something like that. Both seem to be part of a larger plan of integration with the new Leopard server. Directory has a straightforward interface saying its version 0.3, which means perhaps Apple has some big changes planned for this before release to public. Another application to see a upgrade is PhotoBooth 2.0 which see’s its first changes since back at WWDC last year, with the additional ability to capture video from or four photos in succession, but its still quite buggy.
The airport Admin Utility and Bluetooth file exchange, font book and iCal seem to all have recieved small UI based upgrades and changes. One of the big most noticeable changes comes in iMail, with the new default window size making the whole stationary and templates A LOT more visible than previously, maybe now people might actually find and use them :)
