Internet + Gameshow = WhoGets :)

Looks like the new big thing lately are these online gameshows, this time its whogets.com the sites just about as simple as it can get, with a bit of social engineering needed to win (or a crapload of friends). Basically whats done is they put up contests that you enter for a chance to win. Sweepstakes style, this is the luck portion, and is also the first part of the process. To win the $10 – $600 prizes you enter the sweepstakes portion that lats 7 to 14 days, at the end of which 7 random entrants are selected to move on to part 2.

Part 2 is where the social engineering begins, the contestants get the chance to put together a 100 word explanation of why they deserve the product, or they can leave it blank. This final round runs for 7 to 14 days as well, you see the better your explanation (you know waa waa i’m a poor student etc) then the more likely you’ll get votes. Because it’s actually up to the members who wins the prize, depending on the quality and whos got the most friends to vote for them wins in the end.

So if you enter enough contests your sure to get chosen for atleast 1 stage 2… at that point get your thinking hat on :) (And find some college friends to vote for you to win of course :))
