You all remember the uber sexy Tesla Roadster, the 100% electric roadster still has all it’s speed and sex appeal (And price unfortuantely) but what has changed is the range estimate that was originally put forth. While the new range might not change many peoples opinion its still something that potential buyers should take note of.
According to Tesla, the EPA dynamoter is proving to be more taxing than their original estiamtes had perdicted forcing them to revise the 250 miles per charge down to something more around 200 miles per charge, though they haven’t pegged an exact number. Anywhere near 200 miles per charge is still well ahead of any of the other EV’s in the cars range, and none have the supercar feel that the roadster does.
What i find kind of funny is that they’re actually going to change the figure, I mean it’s not like 99% of the cars on the road get their advertised EPA compliant gas mileage even as they drive off the lot. But I suppose the guy buying the tesla might just try to drive 240 miles and get upset when he runs dry ~40 miles short of his destination, with no plug near by :)
