People probably know Pure Digital best from their low cost Point & Shoot cameras from many local CVS shops in the US. Well apparently they weren’t done, and aren’t prepared to stop providing cheap quick tech devices, but this time its something i’m even excited about! Right now when things come up i video tape them on my phone (a old slvr) and lets just say the 30 second maximum per clip isn’t very fun, and the resolution sucks. I always wanted a digital video camera but they’ve always been so darn expensive 400-900$ for a decent one just to tape some basic stuff.
Well CVS is preparing to release the Flip Video camera, sure it’s not gonna have optical zoom or any of the tricked out features (like high-resolution) that the other name brand Digital Camcorders have, but what it does give you is a 30 minute and 60 minute video camera, for 120$ and 150$ respectively. While at the same time offering a bit of software to upload the video to youtube and some other video sites, great for the computer newbies. But to me 30 minutes of digital video that i can offload via USB for only 120$ seems like a darn good price. It’s perfect for guys like me that want a quick easy solution without having to sell my soul. (BTW anyone know why it is that stupid camera phones have that 30/45 second limit even with memory cards present)
