Watch out PS3, your not the "cheap" bluray solution even anymore!

Well the #1 selling point for the PS3 has been that it’s been the cheapest way to get into the Bluray camp. Especially since gaming lately isn’t exactly a big talking point on the ps3 since it’s launch. Well here’s the bad news, Sony has now gimped itself in this regard because the Sony BDP-S300 to $499.00 100$ less than the PS3 is available for. So all those video maniacs over at AVS forum can now get into Bluray for cheaper, without being forced to buy a PS3. Many reviewers are also saying that this could be really bad news for the PS3. Since new games and upcoming games has been a lot less important to Sony than the fact that Bluray should rain supreme.

While this new move does bring Bluray into the lower price range below that of any PS3, which might hurt the PS3 in the short and long run as a Bluray player now that a standalone is available for HighDef fanatics for less than the ps3. I mean now what’s the point in getting a PS3 now, unless you really want to play resistance that bad. Don’t forget though, the HD-A2 HDDVD player is still king of the hill coming in at $200 if you shop around for it, making it the cheapest ticket of all into the HighDef camp.
