You know for such a great phone the iPhone sure was missing the basic’s first it was Instant Messaging, and being unlocked but then their was the often overlooked complete lack of video recording. Sure the iPhone took great 2 megapixel pictures that really look great especially on the big screen, so good it almost made you forget the fact that it was a still image and their was no option for video recording.
Now from the underground that brought us ApolloIM and all the other wonderful iPhone applications is the first alpha release of iPhone video recording!
What’s odd is that the above video is only a proof of concept, but it shows that that the iPhone could from day 1 support video apple just didn’t enable it. What’s more astonishing is the fact that the team that developed it says they can record at 45fps, so a solid 30fps shouldn’t be much of an issue at all.
The initial proof of concept doesn’t do much it’s just a 5 second recording at 15fps that doesn’t save. But you know how the hacker community works it starts like this and then we get a full blown application with fps options and the ability to save videos, the possibilities are endless and I can’t wait to see the first iVideo applications to hit appTapp.
