Microsoft has a merry Xbox360 Christmas Apparently

According to NPD, microsofts estimates of a very strong christmas were well seated, with new competition from both sony and nintendo, microsoft managed to sell 2 million consoles in the USA between november and december 25th, topping nintendos Wii at 1.8 million and sony’s 750,000 ps3′s.

While many sites are saying this might have to be due with shortages, i fear to remind people that during the week or 2 before christmas many sites were reporting ps3′s sitting on shelves or even being returned by scalpers after not being able to sell them on ebay for a profit.

Yes nintendo was more directly in short supply, and its expected given the cut throught pricing.

In the end its just great to know the 360 is still selling like hotcakes, even with no price cut this year.

NPD says they will be releaseing more detailed and complete figures later this month.

Wii straps recalled, ALL OF THEM

After all the we don’t have a problem BS from nintendo, and them saying to play we cant play like the guy in every commercial and we’re just supposed to be flicking our wrist, Nintendo has finally broken down and recalled 3.2 MILLION straps, how many people will actually return them only god knows.

But for their sake they really should, i mean after the broken TVs, Walls, Windows, Laptop Screens, Pdas, and the latest bevy of attacks on humans, it really is a good idea to send back the strap for the new beefed up version… I mean at the rate things are escalating over at wiihaveaproblem.com it wouldn’t have been long before the first Wii Strap related death.

Wiimote breaks 60″ tv already? Not a good sign

Remember all those stupid thoughts we had when Nintendo’s motion sensing wiimot was announced about it slipping out of our hands during our vigirous gaming… and then nintendo said “not to worry theirs a wrist strap” … seems someone forgot, its never a good idea to trust a 2000-10000$ television to a 3 cent strap everytime ones palms are sweaty.

It’s a day or so after the launch of the wii and we have our first report of a DISASTER! The wrist strap didnt slip off… nope it broke! Flying out of the persons hand smashing his 60″ tv.

And this is only a day or 2 after the launch with a brand new strap, i mean really if it’s happened already im kind of worried what this means for 2-3 month old hell year old straps swinging at our expensive tv’s on a daily basis… it’s just seeming more risky then ever. especially since with the wii and its pointing capability also we’re kind of forced to do our menuvers towards our tv’s and the solution isn’t “do the motions softer” because the commercials show excitement and throwing it around, if we can’t get into the motions whats the sense of having motion sensing if you can’t get into it?

Update: Someone on their forum pointed out this has happened to IGn as well but luckily theirs flew and hit a wall not an expensive TV screen, god if this happens to someones high end plasma nintendos gonna have major issues. IGN’s issue

What a Wii comemrcial should be like!

If there were ever any doubts if to get a ps3 or a wii, this commercial would quickly straighten things out to the 14-75 year old male demographic. I mean Nintendo’s been looking to look more adult and attract the non 8 year old crowd this commercial would SOOOOOOO sell Wii consoles… it sold it for me atleast :)

Xbox360 beats out the PS3 and the Wii on the Top50 Coolest Game List!

In the August edition of EGM, something suprised me, Microsoft kicked some major a$$ and a game that has gotten very little attention stole first place from even Gears of War! Unbelievable definitly but it’s true, For those of you that live somewhere you can’t get an EGM i’ll go ahead and do the rundown, and just read down to #1 … i tell you it’s not what you think it is :) (And yes i counted Assasin’s Creed as a 360 game because theres just far too many magazines and sites saying that it’s a 360 title so if you don’t like it then go whine somewhere else).Along with the Top 50 Coolest games the magazine also has a small showcase on why each one was chosen, i must say the rundown seems pretty dead on as to what i expected, except for that final 1-2-3 finish was kind of expecting it in a different order, but then again their is a 4-5 page writeup in EGM on the #1 spot so it must kick some serious butt :)
